My Journey

Hey friends! I’m Melissa.

I see yoga and ballet as being different sides of the same coin. In their own unique ways, they each bring us into a focused, intentional relationship with our own minds and bodies. My personal background as a professional ballet dancer eventually dovetailed into a passion for teaching yoga. As a result, my teaching style often reflects the fluidity and detail-oriented technique of classical ballet.

While ballet is my first love, I have evolved to recognize the immense power of a personal yoga practice, and have dedicated my life to helping others discover their own. I am driven by a desire to show others what they are capable of; and to reveal to them how beautiful they are; on the inside and the outside.

I am trained to teach yoga at the 500 hour level, with an emphasis on ashtanga, yin, and yoga nidra.

We are all in this together

I am head over heels in love with the process of learning about the human condition. I am constantly weaving together my passion for ancient wisdom with leading edge research, and infusing my understandings into my work. My prerogative is to stay curious, and to learn just as much from my students as they learn from me. I am forever committed to improving, evolving, and uplifting other human beings.

The crux of the matter

It is essential for me that my students recieve personalized input on what form of yoga is best for their individual needs. Rather than do things the typical way, I’ve created a system designed around each student’s specific needs.

I enjoy working with students from every walk of life and every level of experience. Whether you are a seasoned athlete, a practiced yogi, or a fresh beginner: all are welcome with open arms.
